High Tea at the Titanic Museum

Is it just me or is anyone else a sucker for a good high tea? I believe I exist in the wrong century because I way over fantasize about wearing evening gowns and sipping tea on my estate. I really need to stop re-watching Downton Abbey, but I am getting off topic.

While in Belfast one of the top things I wanted to do was visit the Titanic Museum. Me and my mom used to re-watch that movie over and over! If you didn’t know the Titanic was actually built in Belfast and the museum is located in the shipyard where that happened. The museum itself is worth a visit and I’ve done a full review here. The highlight for me though was the add on of high tea.

You can book a separate ticket from your museum entrance ticket and have the high tea that was served to the 1st class passengers! It’s really like stepping back in time and something I highly recommend doing!

The experience is amazing, and the service is top notch! When you walk in the dining room it’s a replica of the dining room aboard the Titanic. You have a huge staircase in the back that serves as a backdrop. The china they serve the tea on is also a replica and branded with the White Star logo.  They come out really quickly and you have the option of a blend of different teas. You can also opt for a cocktail if you want, I mean its 5pm somewhere!

They then bring out the tea platter which has so much on it! They have traditional scones with preserves and real butter. There were apple tarts, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate caramel delice, and a sponge cake!

After the sweets they bring out the savory, now if you are vegetarian make sure to mention that when you book the ticket.  They had to swap out some of my sandwiches, but they were super accommodating which was nice.

I would really recommend adding the tea experience to the museum experience. I opted for the Champagne and Afternoon Tea and Titanic Experience. This gave me the full tea experience plus an alcohol drink.  After I had tea, I was then able to go and explore the museum and this was really a perfect way to do it. The total cost was £55 and to put that into perspective the Afternoon tea with the Champagne is £39 on its own.

I had an amazing time and would 100% recommend it to others! If you are in Belfast this is a must do experience! The high tea is truly like taking a step back in time. You won’t be disappointed by booking this experience!
