One of my favorite things to do in any city is to explore its “old town.” I love seeing some of the history and unique parts of that city. While in the South of France I stayed in Antibes and spent a lot of my time in what is known as Old Antibes or Old Town.
If you find yourself in Antibes and unsure of what to do, here are some amazing things to do while walking around Old Town.
This was once the old port of Antibes that dates to ancient times. It is a huge port now that is home to many mega yachts. Fun fact is that it is the largest yachting harbor in all of Europe! If budget permits this is the place to rent a yacht for the day.
Reminisce of the old days, the market is still a central part of the city. You can find fresh fruits and veggies plus you are right by Promenade-Amiral-de Grasse. This is an amazing walkway that runs along the sea and has been intact since the 17th century.
Also known as the Antibes Cathedral dates back to the 5th century! It’s one of the oldest structures in Old Town and is a highlight while exploring!
One of the best parts of exploring Old Antibes is really just taking it all in. There are so many hidden alleys with beautiful buildings. You can walk along the harbor and take in views of the sea.
There are so many food options in Old Antibes from fine dining such as Michelangelo to amazing pizza at Gusto Antibes! There is something for everyone to enjoy, especially the gelato it’s amazing.
Old Town is such a fun part of Antibes that is worth exploring! Make sure to drop a comment below if you get a chance to visit and what you thought!
