If you have been reading my blog for some time or know me then you are aware that I have a HUGE FEAR OF HEIGHTS! Like its quite debilitating to be honest, I hate to even walk across the bridges at malls…like, it’s that bad. When I decided to visit Paris, I knew I would want to climb the Eiffel Tower. I mean how can you go and not go up it?
I braved my fears and a twist of fate I ended up with the last tour of the night! We got into Paris later than excepted and lucked out with a view of the Tower from our room. We decided to walk over and were lucky enough to catch the last tour up! I have to say although it wasn’t planned to do it at night was AMAZING!
One of the best things about climbing the Eiffel Tower was because it was so late, there were hardly any people there. I hate crowds but accept them when doing really tourist things. I had prepped myself to be surrounded by people. That however was not the case! I was able to walk around and be alone which is completely opposite from what you will see during the day.
A fun feature of the Eiffel Tower is it sparkles at night and it’s such a magical experience! The tower will sparkle for five minutes every hour and its the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Now imagine being on the tower and just looking up…words can’t describe it! Since words fail to explain I included a video for your viewing pleasure.
While its iconic and common to see the city landscape during the day it’s another thing to view it at night. I loved standing up high and just looking out at the whole city covered in lights.
I mean come on, standing on the Eiffel Tower at night with my boyfriend while it sparkles is one of the most romantic things I have ever done! It’s not called the City of Love for giggles, it’s a very romantic place. Add in the Eiffel Tower at night and it’s about as romantic as it gets!
I have to say that I 100% recommend you take a trip up the Eiffel Tower and if you can go at night! The views are amazing, the crowds are nonexistent ant you can stop across the street after for coffee and a crepe!
